2025 Hand-building and Wheel Basics
Section A: Hand-building and Wheel Basics Saturdays 10-12 Jan 18-March 15
Section C: Hand-building and Wheel Basics Saturdays 10-12 March 22-May 24
This is an introductory class that includes everything you need. It may be taken repeatedly for skill building. It is a great first step to becoming a studio member.
The class includes instruction, use of tools and studio equipment, clay and house glazes, firing, term long project storage, and at least one open studio day per week.
This class is long enough to learn to make some forms, see them through the glaze firing and hone your preferences. Ceramics is not a quick process so this is a good way to get a solid foundation of knowledge. A demonstration will be given during the weekly class session. Hand building and wheel will be demonstrated. Small class sizes mean I can give individual attention for beginners, who may wish to follow along with demonstration projects. Advanced students may take a more self guided approach if they choose.
These are adult (16+) classes but mature 11-15 year olds may be able to attend with a parent who is also enrolled.
All students will be required to sign a safety waiver and studio practices acknowledgement when class begins.
Refund Policy: From the time you purchase a class enrollment until the day before class begins, you can drop the class and receive a 95% refund. (The website convenience we are enjoying right now costs me a percentage of every sale). If you cancel on the day of class or after the class begins, you will not receive a refund. If the instructor has to cancel an entire course at any time, students will receive a 100% refund. If the instructor has to cancel a class session and cannot make the class up in a satisfactory way, students will receive a refund for that session (prorated).
